How a J. Michaels appointment process works.
First BOOK an appointment.
Book your appointment to set up a time and date that is convenient for you. We are available 7 days a week. You can book an appointment at the convenicne of your home or office. Appts can range from 30-50 mins. Your first appt with us will be the longest. Once we have a patterns already processed for your tailored clothing, reaccuring appts are just fabric choices, which become a much more shorter visit.
Second Get MEASURED UP.
The owners will happily guide you through your
appointment, starting with measuring on a 18 point measurement, so we can properly create a 7 piece paper pattern of you. A new pattern is created for each individual wearer. No modification or use of base patterns, as that could lead the tailor to miss some of the small nuances of the wearer's body. More than just measurements are needed to achieve this (what is the slope of the shoulder, the arch of the back, etc).
Third, choose your FABRICS.
Most exciting part of the appointment is choosing your styling. You create your own garment, custom suit, shirt or knitwear, to express your style. We offer fabrics from the best heritage mills of the world in all catagories whether for a suit, shirt or even knitwear.
Turn around TIME for finished garments.
J. Michaels delivers your items within 4 or 6 weeks depending of the fabric you choose. On your first purchase one final fitting is necessary to make sure your patterns can be set for future use. Once you pattern is set, garments are just delivered to you when complete!
